HOW TO EXPERIENCE THE SUPERNATURAL POWER OF FASTING AND PRYAER
Fasting causes you to separate from everyday life to enter a specific time, set apart only for God, in which you prove by your actions how important He is to you: more important than food, your schedule, your friends. It's a time when you withdraw, consecrating a unique moment to God. It's not just for a few people, but for all who are guided by the Holy Spirit.
Through fasting, God wants to bring you back to look for a deeper intimacy with Him. He wants to remove all the things that are important to you. Fasting gets through your schedule, because God wants to have a significant encounter with you!
Fasting separates what is physical from what is spiritual, it makes a clean cut!
Your body speaks to you daily through needs, impulses, requests and priorities. We have to take them into account, but they must never guide us. People are led all the time by their senses, by what they see, touch, smell, hear and taste. On the other hand, believers are called to be led by the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:14).
From the beginning, God has created humans to be rulers and governors in His own image. God is Spirit, and his worshipers must worship in Spirit and truth. We are spirit, soul and body.
Paul calls the body "a tent": "The desire to break camp here and be with Christ is powerful," but you are not your body; you are a spiritual being living in a body.
